Quasar DV codec (libdv): software codec for DV video encoding format
The Quasar DV codec (libdv) is a software codec for DV video, the encoding format used by most digital camcorders, typically those that support the IEEE 1394 (a.k.a. FireWire or i.Link) interface. Libdv was developed according to the official standards for DV video: IEC 61834 and SMPTE 314M.

To install libdv, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install libdv
To see what files were installed by libdv, run:
port contents libdv
To later upgrade libdv, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade libdv
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
