GtkSpell provides word-processor-style highlighting and replacement of misspelled words in a GtkTextView widget. Right-clicking a misspelled word pops up a menu of suggested replacements.

To install gtkspell2, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install gtkspell2
To see what files were installed by gtkspell2, run:
port contents gtkspell2
To later upgrade gtkspell2, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade gtkspell2
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
