Daemon turns other process into daemons. There are many tasks that need to be performed to correctly set up a daemon process. This can be tedious. Daemon performs these tasks for other processes. This is useful for writing daemons in languages other than C, C++ or Perl (e.g. /bin/sh, Java).

To install daemon, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install daemon
To see what files were installed by daemon, run:
port contents daemon
To later upgrade daemon, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade daemon
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
