ZBar is an open source software suite for reading bar codes from various sources, such as video streams, image files and raw intensity sensors. It supports EAN-13/UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-8, Code 128, Code 93, Code 39, Codabar, Interleaved 2 of 5, QR Code and SQ Code.

To install zbar, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install zbar
To see what files were installed by zbar, run:
port contents zbar
To later upgrade zbar, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade zbar
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
