Xonsh is a Python-ish, BASHwards-looking shell language and command prompt. The language is a superset of Python 3.4+ with additional shell primitives that you are used to from Bash and IPython. It works on all major systems including Linux, macOS, and Windows. Xonsh is meant for the daily use of experts and novices alike.

To install xonsh, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install xonsh
To see what files were installed by xonsh, run:
port contents xonsh
To later upgrade xonsh, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade xonsh
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
