XMLStarlet is a set of command line utilities (tools) to transform, query, validate, and edit XML documents and files using simple set of shell commands in similar way it is done for text files with UNIX grep, sed, awk, diff, patch, join, etc utilities.

To install xmlstarlet, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install xmlstarlet
To see what files were installed by xmlstarlet, run:
port contents xmlstarlet
To later upgrade xmlstarlet, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade xmlstarlet
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
