xa is a high-speed, two-pass portable cross-assembler. It understands mnemonics and generates code for NMOS 6502s (such as 6502A, 6504, 6507, 6510, 7501, 8500, 8501, 8502 ...), CMOS 6502s (65C02 and Rockwell R65C02) and the 65816.

To install xa, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install xa
To see what files were installed by xa, run:
port contents xa
To later upgrade xa, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade xa
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
