TestDisk is a powerful free data recovery utility.
TestDisk was primarily designed to help recover lost partitions and/or make non-booting disks bootable again when these symptoms are caused by faulty software, certain types of viruses or human error (such as accidentally erasing your Partition Table). To install testdisk, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install testdisk
To see what files were installed by testdisk, run:
port contents testdisk
To later upgrade testdisk, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade testdisk
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
