scala_select installs files that allow 'port select' to switch the default scala compiler. It creates unsuffixed symlinks in the MacPorts prefix that point to the selected version.

To install scala_select, paste this in macOS terminal after installing MacPorts
To install scala_select, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install scala_select
To see what files were installed by scala_select, run:
port contents scala_select
To later upgrade scala_select, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade scala_select
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
