An extremely fast Python linter, written in Rust. Ruff aims to be orders of magnitude faster than alternative tools while integrating more functionality behind a single, common interface. Ruff can be used to replace Flake8 (plus dozens of plugins), isort, pydocstyle, yesqa, eradicate, pyupgrade, and autoflake, all while executing tens or hundreds of times faster than any individual tool. Ruff is extremely actively developed and used in many major open-source projects.

To install ruff, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install ruff
To see what files were installed by ruff, run:
port contents ruff
To later upgrade ruff, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade ruff
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
