Unidecode takes Unicode data and tries to represent it in ASCII characters (i.e., the universally displayable characters between 0x00 and 0x7F), where the compromises taken when mapping between two character sets are chosen to be near what a human with a US keyboard would choose. To install py39-unidecode, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install py39-unidecode
To see what files were installed by py39-unidecode, run:
port contents py39-unidecode
To later upgrade py39-unidecode, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade py39-unidecode
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
