ConfigArgParse is a drop-in replacement for argparse that adds support for config files and environment variables. It allows options to also be set via config files and/or environment variables.

To install py39-configargparse, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install py39-configargparse
To see what files were installed by py39-configargparse, run:
port contents py39-configargparse
To later upgrade py39-configargparse, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade py39-configargparse
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
