Pylint is a tool that checks for errors in python code, and tries to check that a given coding standard is respected by the coders. This is similar but nevertheless different from what pychecker_ provides, especially since pychecker explicitely does not bother with coding style. The default coding style used by pylint is close to `Guido's style guide`_.

To install py314-pylint, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install py314-pylint
To see what files were installed by py314-pylint, run:
port contents py314-pylint
To later upgrade py314-pylint, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade py314-pylint
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
