The Levenshtein Python C extension module contains functions for fast computation of Levenshtein (edit) distance, and edit operations, string similarity, approximate median strings, and generally string averaging, string sequence and set similarity. It supports both normal and Unicode strings.

To install py312-levenshtein, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install py312-levenshtein
To see what files were installed by py312-levenshtein, run:
port contents py312-levenshtein
To later upgrade py312-levenshtein, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade py312-levenshtein
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
