Fast implementation of the edit distance (Levenshtein distance). This library simply implements Levenshtein distance with C++ and Cython. The algorithm used in this library is proposed by Heikki Hyyrö, "Explaining and extending the bit-parallel approximate string matching algorithm of Myers", (2001).

To install py312-editdistance, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install py312-editdistance
To see what files were installed by py312-editdistance, run:
port contents py312-editdistance
To later upgrade py312-editdistance, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade py312-editdistance
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
