unittest2 is a backport of the new features added to the unittest testing framework in Python 2.7 and onwards. It is tested to run on Python 2.6, 2.7, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4 and pypy. To use unittest2 instead of unittest simply replace import unittest with import unittest2.

To install py27-unittest2, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install py27-unittest2
To see what files were installed by py27-unittest2, run:
port contents py27-unittest2
To later upgrade py27-unittest2, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade py27-unittest2
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
