Fast and robust mail transfer agent

Postfix attempts to be fast, easy to administer, and secure, while at the same time being sendmail-compatible enough to not upset existing users. It also offers QMQP and VERP support to let Postfix act as delivery daemon for ezmlm-idx.

Port notes

To get postfix working, you need to edit the configuration files (${prefix}/etc/postfix/*). A startup item has been generated that will aid in starting postfix with launchd. It is disabled by default. Execute the following command to start it, and to cause it to launch at startup:

sudo port load postfix
