OPcache improves PHP performance by storing precompiled script bytecode in shared memory, thereby removing the need for PHP to load and parse scripts on each request.
To install php-opcache, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install php-opcache
To see what files were installed by php-opcache, run:
port contents php-opcache
To later upgrade php-opcache, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade php-opcache

The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
