This is a very simple filter. One common cause of grief (and programmer error) is that XML parsers aren't required to provide character events in one chunk. They can, but are not forced to, and most don't. This filter does the trivial but oft-repeated task of putting all characters into a single event.

To install p5.34-xml-filter-buffertext, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install p5.34-xml-filter-buffertext
To see what files were installed by p5.34-xml-filter-buffertext, run:
port contents p5.34-xml-filter-buffertext
To later upgrade p5.34-xml-filter-buffertext, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade p5.34-xml-filter-buffertext

The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
