Perl extension to execute applescript commands on OS X
Simple interface to the OSA scripting stuff. Returns undef on error and sets $@ to the error code. Codes are listed in the AppleScript documentation. On successful completion, this returns the output of the AppleScript command.

To install p5.28-mac-applescript, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install p5.28-mac-applescript
To see what files were installed by p5.28-mac-applescript, run:
port contents p5.28-mac-applescript
To later upgrade p5.28-mac-applescript, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade p5.28-mac-applescript
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
