The primary purpose of File::Tail is reading and analysing log files while they are being written, which is especialy useful if you are monitoring the logging process with a tool like Tobias Oetiker's MRTG.

To install p5.28-file-tail, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install p5.28-file-tail
To see what files were installed by p5.28-file-tail, run:
port contents p5.28-file-tail
To later upgrade p5.28-file-tail, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade p5.28-file-tail
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
