OSSP str is a generic string library written in ISO-C which provides functions for handling, matching, parsing, searching and formatting of ISO-C strings. So it can be considered as a superset of POSIX string(3), but its main intention is to provide a more convenient and compact API plus a more generalized functionality.

To install ossp-str, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install ossp-str
To see what files were installed by ossp-str, run:
port contents ossp-str
To later upgrade ossp-str, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade ossp-str
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
