It also checks for server configuration items such as the presence of multiple index files, HTTP server options, and will attempt to identify installed web servers and software. Scan items and plugins are frequently updated and can be automatically updated.

To install nikto, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install nikto
To see what files were installed by nikto, run:
port contents nikto
To later upgrade nikto, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade nikto
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
