GNU SASL is an implementation of the Simple Authentication and Security Layer framework and a few common SASL mechanisms. SASL is used by network servers (e.g., IMAP, SMTP) to request authentication from clients, and in clients to authenticate against servers.

To install libgsasl, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install libgsasl
To see what files were installed by libgsasl, run:
port contents libgsasl
To later upgrade libgsasl, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade libgsasl
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
