A line editor to be used with interactive commands.
The command ledit allows to edit lines one by one when running an interactive command. When typing a line, some keys with control or meta are interpreted: it is possible to insert characters in the middle of the line, go to the beginning or the end of the line, get a previous line, search for a line with a pattern, etc.

To install ledit, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install ledit
To see what files were installed by ledit, run:
port contents ledit
To later upgrade ledit, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade ledit
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
