jwSMTP is a C++ library/code (GPL license) to facilitate sending email programmatically. wSMTP can send attachments, send to multiple recipients including BCC CC recipients, LOGIN & PLAIN SMTP authentication, do an MX lookup or send direct via an SMTP server.

To install jwsmtp, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install jwsmtp
To see what files were installed by jwsmtp, run:
port contents jwsmtp
To later upgrade jwsmtp, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade jwsmtp
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
