It has a rich set of functions, and the functions have a regular interface. GNU MP is designed to be as fast as possible, both for small operands and for huge operands. The speed is achieved by using fullwords as the basic arithmetic type, by using fast algorithms, by carefully optimized assembly code for the most common inner loops for a lots of CPUs, and by a general emphasis on speed (instead of simplicity or elegance).

To install gmp, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install gmp
To see what files were installed by gmp, run:
port contents gmp
To later upgrade gmp, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade gmp
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
