getmail6 is a flexible, extensible mail retrieval system with support for POP3, IMAP4, SSL variants of both, maildirs, mboxrd files, external MDAs, arbitrary message filtering, single-user and domain-mailboxes, and many other useful features.

To install getmail6, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install getmail6
To see what files were installed by getmail6, run:
port contents getmail6
To later upgrade getmail6, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade getmail6
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
