Fig2dev is a set of tools for creating TeX documents with graphics which are portable, in the sense that they can be printed in a wide variety of environments. The fig2dev command translates Fig code to other graphic description languages. transfig is considered obsolete and is not installed. Drivers currently exist for the following graphics languages: (E)EPIC macros, LaTeX picture environment, PIC, PiCTeX, PostScript, and TeXtyl.

To install fig2dev, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install fig2dev
To see what files were installed by fig2dev, run:
port contents fig2dev
To later upgrade fig2dev, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade fig2dev
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
