A lightweight and very featureful GTK+ based e-mail and news client
Currently, many features are supported in Claws Mail including POP3, IMAP, NNTP, multiple accounts, threading, filtering, MIME attachments, APOP, SMTP AUTH, SSL, IPv6, GnuPG, internalization, plugins, a filtering/processing mechanism, extra folder properties and much more.

To install claws-mail, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install claws-mail
To see what files were installed by claws-mail, run:
port contents claws-mail
To later upgrade claws-mail, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade claws-mail
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
